In the development of a suitable filter, Küfner can in each case adjust the special features of the medical application, such as the flow behavior, and tailor the material selection for plastic and fabric to the individual case. For the first time, the manual production of filters in small and medium quantities can be realized at Küfner under the same hygienic boundary conditions as in large-scale production with falling parts.
Because we know how crucial safe and clean filters are for your application, we can offer a high standard in quality assurance. According to your specific requirements, we work with fully automated testing systems. If required we also carry out cleanliness and residual soiling analyses to ensure that you only get filter screens of perfect quality. We are certified to IATF 16949 and EN ISO 13485. Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001. Repeated awards from our customers evidence our competence in filter production and our reliability as a filter supplier. We produce in a Class 7 cleanroom.

In these applications, a terminal filter is required to protect patients from contamination and allow a high flow rate of the contrast medium. The use of virus and bacteria filters is not reliable in these cases because the resistance in the filter housing is too high and the connection between the membrane and the body can burst.
The filter developed by Küfner for this application consists of a metal mesh enclosed with plastic. This metal mesh is permanently three-dimensionally deformable and can be fitted into a customer-specified component by means of the plastic edging. With this material combination, it was possible to achieve the high flow rate as well as the required stability and material resistance, and to prevent the formation of bubbles during contrast medium injection.
Metal mesh filters with plastic surrounds for medical technology applications can basically be used in all applications where a liquid or gas is introduced into the patient and a terminal filter must reliably prevent contamination.
